Day 1: Beralt and I met with some familiar faces at the Potted Plant in Meridian. Among those faces was Kawamatsu. He told us of Narak coming back to destroy his homeland with even more strength than he had. Narak had sent one last doll to warn that he is coming to the High Priestess. We have been asked to meet with her, which of course we agreed. We were to travel to the Gobaekshin Kingdom. “…He sent one last doll to proclaim this to us. Then, for the past few weeks, there have been dark clouds hanging over the skies to the southwest. The high priestess Mikoto, that you helped save, has asked for your aid in these dark times.” -Kawamatsu Off we set to travel, it was a great day for adventuring, clouding but warm. Travel went fine without a hitch and I played one of my new songs on my flute, I absolutely nailed it! At camp that night, we had some good food. During watch, I noticed Beralts sword forms and made a small wind up squirrel toy. It didn’t come out the best but it was still cute. The night came and went comfortably.

Day 2: We continued our travels and arrived, and crossed, the river without anything going on. The clouds to the south have darkened though we notice. That night at camp around the fire while we ate, I asked Kawamatsu if he was alright, as during my flute song he looked a bit disgruntled at first. He spoke that he remembered me blasting him with a lightning bolt at our last battle together and I told him how sorry I was for that. He commented on how well my flute skills have grown! I’ve worked pretty hard! I gave him my wind up squirrel toy. During my watch, Beralt and I chatted while I crafted a music box. It was SO cute and it came out near perfect with the perfect tune.

Music Box

Day 3: Today, we just traveled and made it to the source of the river, settled camp and took watch for the night. I worked more on my music box and worried about how strong the enemy would be and whether or not Beralt would be ok. The night was pleasant but uneventful. Day 4: As we were walking along, Yvalyn saw a rather homely looking man walking towards us, asking for “spare change”…we’re quite far from any towns so we thought this was suspicious right away. Ardenn deemed it a curse and after looking into it further, he was in fact under a curse. Kawamatsu claims he’s an eccentric fisherman that hasn’t been seen around in awhile. We devised a plan to sedate and bind him, taking him back to the high priestess in his village. After putting him to sleep with a spell, Ardenn tied some excellent knots as I prepared a floating disk to travel with him easier. We arrived at Kanhoku, the town Kawamatsu is from. He told us we can stay at the inn, after some lovely tea, and he would take the man to Mikoto, the high priestess. Day 5: We are lead to Mikoto, she looks grim as expected.

Mikoto

“….We have been able to use fragments of his dolls to locate his real body, but in that time, he has absorbed and grown.”

Mikoto

She had constructed a doll using what we had found on a previous mission that leads to his real body, to the west of town.

Doll of NARAK

“Narak is an amalgamation of a man named Igumo that fused with a demon and a devil. He desired my hand without desiring to know who I was. He was in love with the idea of love. Now, whatever remnants of him remain are long corrupted by the fiendish powers that flow through him, fuelling his new desire for spreading his ideal of nihilism to others by force. The dark clouds continue to spread and make our crops wither…”

Mikoto

As we traveled to where Narak is, we saw lots of interesting things. Demons flying up in the dark clouds, ever darkening clouds, a blood river…it was almost too much. Finally at dark, we reach a stopping point. Day 6: This morning we found some dead bodies. Slissezh determines that it was likely a sharp object that brought their death, nothing too crazy! They had a lot of gems, some money and one had an engraving on his arm that read “what is my meaning”. We decide to leave them and continue on. We were led, by the doll around Puddin’s neck, to a large spider shaped structure, which Ardenn found a trap right away outside…so this should be interesting.

As we enter I notice some carvings on the walls. I determined that they are related to transmutation magic that transformed the surrounding landscape into a spider structure, very interesting. I also detected a carving, beyond the trip wire, that will activate when someone enters the area. After a ritual detect magic spell, I determined it uses necromancy magic. No one wants to deal with that, so Yvalyn and I disarmed it for us. Ardenn made sure we didn’t trip the wire and on we went. Down the corridor we met a woman standing there. She says her name is Kazena and she works for Narak.

Kazena

“So. You passed the test. Narak will be pleased. I am Kazena. I have been made to obey Narak, and I was tasked with taking you to him.”

Kazena

She seems to be speaking truthfully, so we follow her. It’s moldy as we go down this corridor…yuck! We found a huge mural that shows Narak with swarms of insects around him. From his right hand, blood pours down, and at the bottom, from the pool of blood, six figures emerge. Narak’s left hand holds six hearts….there’s some language that I’m unsure of but Yvalyn translates for us, it says: “Flesh of my flesh, obey my orders if you value your lives. If you do not, you are one step closer to joining me in embracing the void.”We finally get to Narak and it is an epic battle with many foes.

We were accompanied by Kazena of the Wind. After the battle we discovered that she might just be ok after all. After figuring out a missing rune, we locate Narak’s treasury and find a whole bunch of loot! Of course Ardenn was all over that. Silly silly. Once we gathered all that we could we narrowly escaped the building collapsing on top of us. Once we get to an area that looks suitable for camp, we make camp and rest for the night. The night is uneventful. Day 7: The morning is rainy and we get lost on our travels but we are able to find our way back to our trail. After a full day of just travel, we stop for camp. We did find an old stone well. I hear whispers that the well water was blessed with Longstrider. Very interesting. The night goes by without a hitch and I continue my work on my music box. Day 8: We should get to Kanhoku today, I’m so excited to tell the people of this lovely village that Narak won’t be bothering them anymore. Once we get to town, Lady Mikoto and her sister greet us asking about Narak’s defeat. The skies are already clearing in their town. They hold a huge celebration. We set and drink and dance into the night. Day 9: In the morning we help clean up the town from the celebration. The village people cast us with Transport via Plants to get us over the mountains quicker! What a fun thing that was. They provided us with food as well for our travels. Mikoto presented us with a special gift as well from their town. We continue to port mirandia

That’s all for now! Until next time.
