From Edding’s speech notes:
Thank you all very much. Sorceress Cynder, Rogue Dust, adventurers and citizens of White Moon, my fellow Katashians: Major combat operations in the West have ended. In the battle of the artifact, White Moon and our allies have prevailed.
(Pause for applause.)
In this battle, we have fought for the cause of liberty, and for the peace of the island. Our town and our party are proud of this accomplishment — yet, it is you, the members of the White Moon Cove, who achieved it. Your courage, your willingness to face danger for your island and for each other, made this day possible. Because of you, our island is more secure. Because of you, Talos has fallen, and Katashaka is free.
(Pause for applause.)
Operation Artifact Freedom was carried out with a combination of precision and speed and boldness the enemy did not expect, and the world had not seen before. From distant hilltops or right in melee, we sent fireballs and other spells that could destroy an enemy division, or strike a single dwarf leader. Karash and I charged into their ranks across 350 miles of hostile ground, in one of the swiftest advances of heavy arms in history. You have shown the world the skill and the might of White Moon Cove.
(Pause for applause.)
The enemy fell before us though we lost one of our own in the battle. Karash was laid low but it was purely due to their numbers. We burned his body and interrogated our prisoners before continuing to press the attack. Their rear guard was attempting to escape toward the mountains but we ran them down without mercy.
The war on Talos is not over; yet it is not endless. We do not know the day of final victory, but we have seen the turning of the tide. No act of the dwarves will change our purpose, or weaken our resolve, or alter their fate. Their cause is lost. Free adventurers will press on to victory.
(Pause for applause.)
