Foreman Philford approached us about helping him to continue road work on the Pebbletoss Highway.

The first day was spent traveling along the road. We encountered some spectators and other beholderkin that were shortly dispatched, apparently having taken a disliking to Katla. That night we found a Gruff Gruff goblin corpse, a female. We took a marking from her clothing, now in the archives, to help identify her body to the tribe whenever someone next is able to visit them. It was strange to see a Gruff Gruff that far west along the road.

In the morning, we came across a gravestone labeled “Lacar Washir”, which Katla seemed to recognize. Apparently, they found a grave with the same last name. We continued west, running into an old man who was staging a robbery. As we approached the bandits though, the whole lot of them shifted into werewolves, whom we dispatched not long after. It was curious, as we approached, the older man began to cry out in pain, asking us to “Call a doctor, but not for him!” as he shifted. Lycanthropy does degrade the mind, but all the same strange. I have heard tale of many a lycanthrope in the region; this will need to be addressed.

From there we moved north along the planned route for the highway, until we found a hanging body, and to our surprise it was alive. As we were speaking to the man, claiming to be a halfling, I casted a spell of Detect Good and Evil, and the large headed small man we found, named Tobaggins, was actually a celestial, a kind of lesser angel of a sort. We had a short interchange, him describing in some detail his sexual exploits with a unicorn, before he took to swimming in the river. Later that day, we came upon a wizard with a pet hydra, who rudely attacked us. As we downed the creature, we cut open the Hydra, hoping to find treasure, but found none other than Tobaggins, seemingly unharmed and undeterred in his quest to swim once more.

As the road work continued, we came upon a roadside salesperson with murderous dolls. He revealed himself to be an incubus, charming the brutish Katla, and pulling a metal ram-headed gorgon creature from below his stand, but he too fell by my bow. New experiences abound on this island
