Under the shade of a stout and pretentious oak, with crisp fall air, a number of adventures gathered abound. Most youngsters beardless save for Pretzel who’s jaw held proper shrub of a man. Tharivol and Ser’ Frederic bore the mark of the ‘Templar Order’. One fresh faced and excited, the latter looking three drinks into the morning. A handsome drow named Aether, who appeared to looking to catch a chill! Along with a high elf named Thiala who could do with a few more good home-cook meals a day! All of them could do with a bit more food in their life for that matter.
After some chatting the job poster arrived. A Tall man with a seemly brown beard named Gojoh introduced himself and gave us the details of what he needed done. mugwort, two pounds to cure an affliction he suffered. I shouldn’t speculate, but he seemed not to suffer coughs, congestion, was not in a coma, nor did he limp, have difficulty seeing, or seem to itch himself. Also seeing as he’s a man it wouldn’t be menstrual irregularity. Leaving the usual suspects of foot odor, difficulty with urination, or constipation, all of which mugwort would relieve greatly.
He also sought, a second bushel for a family dinner gathering, likely celebration the Feast of the Moon. As mugwort leaves makes a fine bitter tea that ward’s off colds promoting a good general health, although should not be drunk by any carrying mothers, nor one’s attempting to become such. It can also be used to season meat’s of both land and sea, and it even repels insects.
Off to the Neathy wood’s we went, it was a pleasant enough hike with plenty of mugwort to be found. I was careful only to take the leaves they could spare, which with the onset of winter was plenty as they intended to shed most of them. Thiala was careful to insure I was truly collecting mugwort and not something else. And while I have been collecting herbs for as long as I can remember I quite it was enjoyable working alongside her. Just like when spend time guarding with my children or grandchildren. Earth rest Geovious’s body, and may Chauntea see to his soul.
After the first day, we returned to the Black Footpad Inn with both a full burlap sack of mugwort, and Wilson, a freshly potted mugwort plant. We enjoyed both a hearty meal, and the satisfying performance of a one Orpheus. A man grieving the loss of his beloved Eurydice. He believes that a satyr called Nacard might know her final resting place. We promised to keep an eye out for the goat man, and turned in for the night.
Next morning after a hearty breakfast we set off back into the Neathey woods, seeking out two more pounds of mugwort leaf. One batching we found started flying away from us, to which Aether use some of his inborn magic to outline the invisible co-harvesters. A feat the sprites, as they turned out to be, took unkindly to. Although we were able to convince them we were simply surprised. The leader of the trio of sprites was a spunky one called Elina, and the three of them sought to gather food to save their friend captured by hungry monsters. A brutish troll along with a crazed red-cap.
We spoke to the pair of monsters, and I tried to offer a good-berry to ‘fill the trolls apatite’ however they sought to make a meal of me instead. My allies in finding mugwort came to my aid in slaying the dangerous duo, prevailing despite grievous wounds. The sprites fetched their friend, a satyr named Tumnis, while we rested our wounds. They took their share of leaves and conversed with us, according to them Nacard was a lecherous satyr who would roam the Neathey woods searching for tail. They assured us they would send him to the Black Footpad Inn should they see him so Orpheus could ask after his beloved.
We headed to collect the last of the Mugwort leaf we sought after Elina directed us to a fresh patch. Subsequently as we walked a trail home a tiefling in wizardesk robes was fleeing the other direction. Morg his name, and he was on the run form his transmogrified ultra turkeys. One’s that proved to hot on his trail, eager to gobble him up for feasting on of their brethren. We interceded on the man’s behalf, and after a fierce battle we walked away with enough turkey for our own Feasts of the Moon. With that I parted way’s with the youngsters, heading home to try and out due last year’s cooking.
