Race: Half-Elven

Description:
A curious mage that is hard to get a read on. He seemed to not be insulted by being referred to as a sewer pup. Also potentially masochistic, he spent much of his time hoping our enemies would hit him… though upon seeing the fire he rained upon an abomination that did hit him I can see the value of his tactics.

Status:
Unfortunately lost his life in a blood bath that may have been orchestrated by Tsaran.

Race: Dwarven

Description:
A dwarven cleric. This land is truly foreign to my own. The Dwarves of home would never be known as a cleric. They worshiped their ancestors and the stone. But Barendd seemed to worship the gods of this land. But despite their differences he could give the dwarves I know a run in the provings.

Race: Half-Elven

Description:
Something a little more familiar to me. He wields the natural magics of the elven tribes of my home land in the same way that thier hunters do. Skilled with his bow he was a valuable asset.

Status:
Unfortunately lost his life in a blood bath that may have been orchestrated by Tsaran. However, an odd teenager funded his ressurection. He remains among the living for the time. I pray no demons were brought back with him.

Race: Human

Description:
She may not be from my homeland but the experience of humanity is yet the same. The small villages are forgotten and often left to fend for themselves. It is this lack of care for our fellow man that has forged the path she seems to follow. Though her spirit seems optimistic, I hope the loses do not take their toll on her.

Status:
Unfortunately lost his life in a blood bath that may have been orchestrated by Tsaran. Like Kylgore, Emily was brought back by the odd teenage benefactor known as Cynder. I hope her spirit remained strong enough to repel the demons.

Race: Elven

Description:
Where the elves of my land often live in squalor as slaves, beaten, berated and treated as if they were not also His children, the elves here seem to have a better life. Thiala bearing the haughty air of superiority that the nobles of my land often carried. Though perhaps she has reason to feel like this. Observing her battle prowess, it is easy to see how she blends the arcane with physical in the way the ancient elves of my land are said to have done. She has the potential to be a fierce Arcane Warrior… at least if I don’t accidentally strike her down first. I must somehow make amends for that folly.

Status:
Thankfully she was not lost.

20th of Firstfall

The other night I met a new paladin, Emily Murdoch. As one who had just taken their Oath and were attempting to do good in the world, they had assembled a team to look into a cult that has been plaguing the people of this land. The cult, lead by one known as Tsaran, is exactly the type of people the teachings of her grace warn about.

“Magic exists to serve man, and never to rule over him.
Foul and corrupt are they
Who have taken His gift
And turned it against His children.
They shall be named Maleficar, accursed ones.
They shall find no rest in this world
Or beyond.”
-Transfigurations 1:2

As it is my sacred duty to seek out such perversions of His gifts I joined the expedition along with several others that follow the righteous path.

Emily spoke of a Shrine to a god of this land, Lathander of the Sun, and suggested we seek out blessings from this shrine before pursing the cult of Tsaran. On our travels to the shrine we were beset upon by several great snakes of pestilence and plague, their very gaze causing nausea and filling you with sickness. Though with our exceptional teamwork we were able to best these abominations, discovering after that they seemed to feed upon those that traveled along the roads near the Jub Jub mountains.

It should also be made well aware that during this battle I did accidentally strike Thiala, an act I will be forever tormented by as it is my duty to assist the innocent, not strike them down. May His grace provide me with opportunity to make amends for this disgrace.

21st of Firstfall

Everything went wrong last night. We had been attempting to watch the entrance to a cave system that may provide access to Tsaran’s fortress when man sized rats came from the darkness and struck hard at the group. The abominations cut through us like butter. He must have been watching over me because there is no other reason I should still be alive. They tore into the others and shredded their corpses, but at least I saw Thiala make a safe retreat before I had fallen. One small good thing.

I awoke after I have no idea how long to fluid being poured down my throat. It seems that Thiala had not fled far, she had returned and administered healing poultices she scavenged off the departed. Despite her prickly demeanor their may be a heart in there, or perhaps I was just a means to an end. In either case I am thankful she returned.

We huddled in the bushes for the rest of the night, anxiously awaiting dawn… or the creatures of the darkness to return and finish us off. But by His grace, dawn came and with it the Dwarves of the Jub Jub Mountains. They cared for us and brought us safely back to their mines along with our fallen companions.

Thanks to Cynder, Emily and Kylgore live again. Unfortunately the same cannot be said for Styg or Barendd. May they find peace in His arms.
